Bulk Milk Hauler

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.


2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.


3. Operates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and AMPI rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices


4. Following schedule and directions from location supervisory personnel, travels to location to transport raw milk


5. Transfers raw milk from farm containers to trailer


6. Takes quality and control samples at farm


7. Measures milk loaded into trailer


8. Follows designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel


9. Takes measures to minimize truck idle times and conserve fuel consumption


10. Maintains positive communications with producers, listens for issues or potential problems, reports producers' comments to transportation and member services management


11. Represents AMPI positively and professionally at all times during interactions with producers, customers, or regulatory personnel


12. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping


13. Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed


14. Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.


15. Assists with training new employees.

    Adhere to all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and AMPI Safety Polices & Procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a valid CDL (Class A)


• Must have, or be able to obtain, tanker endorsement.


• Must be at least 21 years of age.


• Two years of recent tractor/trailer experience is preferred
