This open competitive advertisement is for an anticipated vacancy of the Bureau Chief of Research & Data Analysis, which is Selected Exempt Service (SES), within the Office of Strategic Initiatives.
The Bureau Chief of Research & Data Analysis serves as an exempt supervisory authority responsible for leading teams to facilitate departmental research, population projections, and data governance, while ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibility also includes representing the agency on the methods behind research and data analysis both internally and externally.
The incumbent will be expected to conduct business at Central Office located in Tallahassee, Florida. This position does not offer telework.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
