As a Bus Aide, you’ll be the guiding star for our young travelers, ensuring their journey is safe, engaging, and full of learning opportunities. Under the supervision of the Bus Driver, your primary mission is to create a warm and caring environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety First: Partner with the Bus Driver to ensure the well-being of all children on board. From securing seat harnesses to executing emergency procedures, you’ll be the guardian of safety.
• Engagement: Actively interact with children, making every bus ride a chance for fun and learning. Use positive behavior techniques to manage the bus atmosphere.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure every child is accounted for using our Daily Bus Sign In/Sign Out system. Conduct thorough checks at every stop to make sure no one is left behind.
• Cleanliness: Keep the bus spotless! You’ll be responsible for sanitizing and preparing the bus for the next trip, making it a welcoming space for children.
• Learning on Wheels: Implement educational activities and support children’s development, especially those with special needs, in line with our School Readiness Plan.
• Communication: Report any incidents, maintain confidentiality, and ensure parents or authorized individuals sign children in and out daily.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 18 years of age (HS/GED preferred).

- No prior experience required – we’ll provide the training you need!

- CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permits are required (we can help you obtain these).

- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus!

- Ability to work with children with special needs and those with limited English skills.
