ABOUT US:

GEO Next Generation Academy – Indianapolis is a part of a network of high-quality charter schools managed by the GEO Foundation. It joins 21st Century Charter at Gary, Gary Middle College East and Gary Middle College West in delivering a high-quality learning experience to parents and students in Indiana. GEO Next Generation High School is a tuition-free, public charter school that will begin with 9th grade and add a grade each year over the subsequent three years. Our teachers cultivate critical thinking skills students need to understand how the world works around them. Our dedicated faculty are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Through our partnership with the local community college, our students will be able to take dual credit courses with the opportunity to earn college credit at no cost to the student. Our curriculum and our teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge, Teach Like a Champion and blended learning model. We are a TAP school!

REPORTS TO/TERM:

• Principal and Operations Manager
• This is a full time position

REQUIRED FUNCTIONS:

A Bus Driver is required to perform the following duties:

• Be willing to work varied hours
• Maintain valid CDL License at all times
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded passenger bus
• Comply with all CDL regulations and provisions including random drug and alcohol testing
• Keep bus clean and in good repair
• Keep bus compliant with state regulations
• Provide daily maintenance to bus such as check tire pressure and check water and oil levels
• Pick up and deliver students to and from school or community college
• Work with staff to coordinate pickup and delivery schedule
• Maintain order and discipline while students are on bus
• Work with Principal and staff to administer discipline 
• Supervise students at bus stops and drop off facilities
• Comply with all school policies and dress codes. 
• Other duties as asked

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Maintains a valid (State) Driver’s License with CDL School Bus Certification
• Willing to work flexible hours
• Willing to submit to regular drug and alcohol tests. 
• Clean driver’s record
• Be able to lift 40 pounds
