Job Summary

The IT Business Analyst serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams by identifying business needs, analyzing requirements, and translating them into effective technology solutions. This position supports IT projects, system implementations, process improvements, and digital transformation initiatives by ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, processes, and technology needs.

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements.

• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, meetings, and requirements-gathering sessions.

• Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements for IT teams.

• Develop business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, and process documentation.

• Analyze current systems and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Develop current-state and future-state process maps and workflows.

• Work with developers, architects, QA teams, project managers, and business users throughout the project lifecycle.

• Evaluate proposed technology solutions and assess their alignment with business requirements.

• Define acceptance criteria and support solution validation.

• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test scenarios, test cases, and defect tracking.

• Assist with system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.

• Identify and document system dependencies, assumptions, constraints, risks, and issues.

• Support data analysis, data mapping, system integrations, and data migration activities when required.

• Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Track requirements throughout the project lifecycle and ensure changes are properly documented and approved.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives when applicable.

• Support Waterfall or hybrid project methodologies when required.

• Prepare project documentation, presentations, status updates, and management reports.

• Assist with change management, user training, implementation, and adoption activities.

• Investigate production issues and coordinate with IT teams to identify and resolve root causes.

• Monitor implemented solutions and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

• Ensure IT solutions comply with organizational policies, security requirements, and applicable standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, IT, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related role.

• Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.

• Experience working with software development or IT project teams.

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts.

• Experience creating process flows, use cases, user stories, and requirements documentation.

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases is preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar business analysis certification.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

• Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, or financial applications.

• Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and application architecture.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with data modeling, SQL, and data migration.

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity, access controls, and IT governance.

• Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation or system implementation projects.
