JOB SUMMARY


The Business Analyst, HRIS acts as the primary conduit between Human Resources stakeholders and the IT department to enhance system capabilities and business workflows. This role focuses on documenting business requirements, identifying operational inefficiencies, and executing technical configurations within the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) ecosystem. The analyst maintains data integrity through meticulous testing, standard and ad-hoc report development, and proactive problem-solving. This position serves as a reliable functional and technical point of contact across HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Training functions, ensuring system updates align smoothly with business objectives.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Requirements Gathering & Mapping: Interview HR users to uncover operational problems and capture precise business requirements. Translate user needs into functional specifications and systematic process maps.

  • Process Improvement: Evaluate current HR, Payroll, and Training workflows. Recommend and implement best-practice configuration changes to streamline service delivery.

  • System Testing & Maintenance: Coordinate the testing phase of HRMS upgrades, application patches, and new integrations. Document testing scripts, evaluate unexpected system behaviors, and track resolution results.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Design, write, and maintain complex queries and dashboards to satisfy ongoing compliance and corporate metrics. Run routine data audits to secure database integrity.

  • User Support & Training: Resolve day-to-day functional errors, data discrepancies, and workflow flaws for internal customers. Build clear, user-friendly standard operating procedures and conduct system training.

  • Vendor & Project Coordination: Support large-scale HRIS initiatives by maintaining project documentation, monitoring timelines, and coordinating configurations with third-party application vendors.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS



  • Systems Analysis: Strong expertise in business requirements analysis, data modeling, and business process mapping.

  • Technical Aptitude: Solid understanding of enterprise HRMS infrastructure, multi-system integration protocols, and data structures.

  • Data Management: High proficiency with spreadsheet analysis and standard reporting tools (e.g., advanced Excel, PowerBI).

  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to analyze complex workflows, isolate data or logic errors, and formulate valid conclusions.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for diverse stakeholders.

  • Discretion: Strict adherence to data privacy regulations and the daily maintenance of sensitive corporate confidentiality.

  • Execution: Strong capacity to prioritize tasks, meet strict project deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities under pressure.


 


BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, HR Management, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience utilizing enterprise HR suites, with UKG Pro/UltiPro highly preferred.

  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.


 


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE



  • Professional HR or Business Analyst certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, or CBAP).

  • Prior experience working on core payroll, HRMS and time and attendance system configurations.
