Description

 The National Pork Board is seeking a dynamic addition to our Business Coordinator team. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Business Coordinator- Communications will provide direct administrative support to a Communications VP and team of 16 colleagues. This position will also assist 5 other Business Coordinators and their respective departments when needed. 

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: 

  • Provide administrative support to various team members; maintain and update calendars, coordinate travel/hotel arrangements.  
  • Organize, coordinate and plan internal/external meetings, executing event details (food and beverage details, audio/visual needs, entertainment, speakers, agendas, speaker presentations, travel, etc.) for meetings and events.  
  • General support to producers, specifically producers on National Pork Board Task Forces or Advisory Groups, including travel arrangements and expense reporting and reconciliation. 
  • Produce and distribute correspondence; compile special reports, spreadsheets, and other documents; organize and distribute mailings. 
  • May edit or proofread written communications produced by Communication team members.  
  • Coordinate content for USDA review and approval. 
  • Assist with contract administration, purchase orders and processing invoices. 
  • Support the hiring/onboarding for new and transitioning employees. 
  • Assist with special projects as they arise and perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Prioritization of tasks/duties providing check-ins with team members to ensure team is optimally performing and meeting deadlines. 

Requirements

  

  • High school diploma or equivalent, 2- or 4-year college degree in communications, marketing, or business preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of administrative work, office management, or similar related experience.
  • Well versed and current with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote, etc.), and tend to pick up quickly on new software programs. 
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task responsibilities with competing priorities, work well under pressure and plan ahead to meet deadlines.  
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organization skills including problem-solving and critical thinking. 
  • Knowledge of project management concepts and processes. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.  
  • Positive attitude, enjoy working independently and being part of a diverse team. 

This position can work a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days in office, 2 days remotely. Travel may be required (10%) to provide on-site support of events throughout the year. Experience with online travel reservations, Asana and/or Salesforce is a plus. A communications background is a plus. 

Full-time starting salary range: $58,000-$68,000.  Please note: This starting range is based on a general market pay assessment. However, individual salary decisions take into account a variety of factors including but not limited to: business and local market considerations, internal equity, and overall candidate skills, education and experience.
