Business Data Analyst - Exciting Challenge

We are looking to bring on a Sr. Business Data Analyst with at least 6+ years of experience and Finance/ Banking domain experience.

Top Desired Skills:

1. Strong abilities with SQL - ability to profile and test data using complex queries
2.) Experience with Data Mapping/Migration
3.) Experience with enterprise software conversion projects
4.) Finance/ Banking domain experience – Any Commercial Lending related experience would be a big plus

The Data Conversion Analyst would assist in system data integration / migration activities associated with the current Merger. This role will focus on data integration activities such as migrating data from vendor to another vendor and capture downstream impacts. AFSVision experience is a big plus.

Key Skills include:

i. Perform analysis on large datasets to determine data quality.

ii. Identify and describe the complex data quality issues and document for downstream review.

iii. Good understanding of relational databases (Oracle)

iv. Good data analysis and data modelling skills

v. SQL knowledge is required

vi. Have good understanding of data structure and file formats

Business Data Analyst skillset:

• Requirements gathering and analysis / break down of large requests into user stories and/or component parts
• System and system integration design based on requirements
• Agile or agile-variant software development methodologies
• Understanding of testing concepts through the software development lifecycle (unit, performance, regression) and capability to write test cases and test plans
• Proven strength in interpreting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.
• Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modelling/mapping, and data modelling.
• Strong experience with various software development methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.
• Strong experience building, writing and executing test cases (using technologies such as JIRA, Confluence, Selenium, Loadrunner, is a plus)
• Excellent communicator - Ability to communicate verbally and in technical writing to all levels of the organization in a proactive, contextually appropriate manner.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Execute root cause analysis of systems and data issues.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent understanding of business process.
• Strong ability to think through workflows and the characteristics that make each workflow different.
• Proven ability to prioritize work by dividing time, attention and effort between assigned workload and on-going support tasks.
• Proven ability to easily adapt to changes in processes, procedures and priorities data migration work effort. This will require significant data mapping between systems, data profiling using SQL, and supporting efforts to test and validate data.

Nice to have:

Commercial lending experience, Loan Momententum, and/or AFS experience (either level 3 or Vision) would be a plus
