Job Description - Business Development Coordinator

Hanes Geo Components, a division of Leggett & Platt, is a leading distributor of erosion control and soil stabilization products, serving distributors and contractors across the United States and Canada. We are seeking a Business Development Coordinator who will play a key role in the establishment of new locations for Hanes Geo Components (i.e., Greenfields). This person must be able to work alongside functional leaders and help coordinate the execution of key business objectives.

This position has no location requirement. Candidates must be willing to travel up to 25% based on business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

Sales Support:

  • Prequalify markets and sales targets
  • Develop a target customer list and document contacts via CRM
  • Maintain a strong database of target project opportunities for the future sales team
  • Oversee project tracking and account management through location start-up
  • Report progress to the leadership team on sales opportunities and competitive dynamics
Operations Support:
  • Manage inventory systems
  • Optimize ICT utilization
  • Establish branch processes
Customer Service Support:
  • Develop and implement SOPs for order processing, credits, returns, and pricing
  • Maintain product and application knowledge
Recruitment & Training:
  • Work with Human Resources to support the hiring process for branch personnel
  • Responsible for the initial training of new personnel in their different roles
Reporting:
  • Track and report progress on key objectives to management and business leaders
Implementation:
  • Execute operational and customer support strategies
Post-Implementation:
  • Collaborate with Greenfield and leadership teams to remediate challenges
  • Identify opportunities to improve future Greenfield executions and efficiencies
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Experience in operations, logistics, market analysis, customer service, and sales support.
  • An understanding of the Greenfield process and the ability to execute an implementation plan in a timely manner.
  • Skilled in CRM, Mainframe, and ICT systems, ensuring efficient operational execution.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication for informed decision-making.
