Job Description - Business Development Director

JOB DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Guide and dictate team approach and navigation of internal organizational politics and policy, planning around partnerships, functional partners management, and leadership interactions. Determine the framing partnerships development pipeline according to partnership strategy, through market scope, partners call, and financial analysis. Handle escalations around relationship complexities and agreement breaches internally with senior leadership and with partners' senior leadership. Manage senior leadership's expectations, and collaborate on broad business strategic decisions and navigation related to the bank. Develop the talent of junior mid-level managers on the team. Lead deal conversations and negotiation. Work in conjunction with Finance, Legal, and other teams to develop financial business case, deal constructs, and other key terms associated with partnership. Lead partnership strategy approach with various lines of business (LOBs), identifying and analyzing key elements of strategy and developing strategy recommendations. Develop and deliver specific partner proposals with LOBs including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Legal Studies, Economics, Marketing/Business Strategy, Operations Management, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Business Development Director, Corporate Development and Strategic Partner, Management/Legal Associate, CEO, or related occupation (experience can be gained prior to Bachelor’s degree completion). The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Legal Studies, Economics, Marketing/Business Strategy, Operations Management, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or related field of study plus 10 years of experience in the job offered or as Business Development Director, Corporate Development and Strategic Partner, Management/Legal Associate, CEO, or related occupation (experience can be gained prior to Bachelor’s degree completion).
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: digital, banking, financial services, or payments industry; partnership or strategic alliance development; negotiation, contracting, and complex deals; team management; mechanics of forecasting, and variable sensitivity; commerce space including shopping, offers, and loyalty; developing executive-level presentation materials for C-suite or senior executive leadership using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; using PowerPoint presentation add-ons including Pitch-Pro and Think-Cell; and full control of project management through Salesforce CRM system. Experience in the skills can be gained prior to Bachelor’s degree completion.
Job Location: 277 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10172. This position requires up to 25% domestic travel. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
Salary: $232,398 - 275,000 per year.
