Who You Are
We are looking for a highly driven, networked, organized, and communicative individual with strong business development experience in the digital or mobile advertising industry, to occupy the Business Development Director role. This person will be responsible and accountable for sourcing and onboarding new DSPs and Demand partners to Smaato's omnichannel ad exchange.



This position can be occupied in New York City in a hybrid set-up or filled remotely in one of the following states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.



What You Will Do


  • Identify, qualify, pitch, and close new business with buyers (DSP) in line with our core strengths & capabilities

  • Work with the leadership team to define, achieve, and exceed revenue and new business goals

  • Develop an omnichannel sales strategy that drives accelerated business growth

  • Continuously prospecting for new business using your existing network of relationships and creating new relationships (we need to see your network during the interview process)

  • Work closely with the Marketing organization to shape the go-to-market (GTM) narrative and be an expert at articulating the story internally and externally

  • Manage an entire sales cycle from inception to closure to up-sell including prospecting, discovery, evaluation, proposal, justification, close, and onboarding with Sales Engineering & Account Management

  • Collaborate with other team members in Account Management, Sales Engineering, and Marketing, and beyond and exceed customer expectations

  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in mobile, CTV, and in-app programmatic buying trends across the ad tech and digital ecosystem

  • Participate in industry events and assist in developing Smaato’s market presence

  • Prepare pitch materials as needed, both independently and within existing support processes

  • Exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals



What You Will Bring


  • 5+ years of experience in selling or closing new businesses in Programmatic Advertising

  • Experience selling CTV and mobile solutions to DSPs, agencies, programmatic buyers

  • Existing relationships with mobile media companies at the VP sales level, VP/Director, Ad Ops, and comfortable with running C-level conversations

  • Strong knowledge & familiarity with Internet advertising models, ad optimization, audience trends, and technologies

  • Self-motivated, independent, high-performing individual, with the ability to learn and become productive extremely fast

  • Customer-centric, consultative sales professional who can quickly understand their target customers' market, business & challenges

  • A professional who isn't scared of change and is able to adapt quickly to a constantly changing competitive landscape

  • An enthusiast about marketing who can think strategically and follow through tactically, technically, creatively, and in collaboration with their team members

  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills - both verbal and written

  • Proven willingness and ability to prospect aggressively

  • Superb relationship-building skills that can develop credibility with executives and demonstrable business acumen

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • B.A or B.S is a must - MBA preferred

The OTE salary range for this position is USD 170k-235k per annum. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
