Summary
Job Title: Business Development Director - Professional Services Department: Flatwater Trading Company Reports to: VP of Strategic Development and Operations Location: Bellevue, NE or Remote Status: Exempt
Summary Oversees and manages all aspects of business development activities within the assigned vertical from identification and strategic pursuit of customers, opportunity identification and qualification, capture planning, allocation of department resources, proposal development, and negotiations. Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and ethics compliance while supporting the culture and values of the organization through policies and processes. Responsible for creating business development policies and procedures, as well as working with senior management to support the company's strategic direction. Maximize opportunity and growth by using existing contract vehicles as well as developing new customer relationships and new contract vehicles.

Develops and executes strategies for lead generation, capture process, pricing and all other matters related to acquiring new business within the assigned vertical Identifies and analyzes industry spending trends and develops strategies and implementation plans to pursue capture of new business Trains FWG personnel in business development, capture processes and pipeline development. Develops cross functional teams to capitalize on organic capabilities in developing proposals and plans Leads and directs efforts on key opportunities and manages the capture process Provides market feedback on assigned vertical to company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generation of ideas for future growth Maximizes business development opportunities using current contract vehicles and identifies new customer opportunities and leads efforts to acquire new contract vehicles Develops, initiates, and maintains business development policy and procedures. Ensures consistency of processes. Responsible for maintaining compliance with customer requirements and internal quality standards Directs business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's overall strategy and in alignment with core capabilities. Accountable to ensure that all responses to customer requirements accurately represent the mission and philosophy of the company Leads the Business Development team within assigned vertical according to company policy and procedures including professional development of staff while ensuring necessary resources are available for successful performance of duties Leads internal teams from multiple departments to create successful responses to customer requirements using excellent organization, multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines and milestones while managing multiple efforts simultaneously Exhibits the highest level of integrity and ethics compliance while supporting the culture and values of the organization through policies and processes. Holds staff accountable for integrity and ethics in all business matters Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets and strategic plans Competencies Communication Proficiency Organizational Skills Mathematical Skills Technical Capacity Thoroughness Time Management Collaboration Skills Initiative
Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel Travel is required during the business day, out-of-area and overnight travel to be expected.
Experience Thorough understanding of Federal acquisition processes as both a prime contractor and subcontractor within assigned vertical Thorough understanding of the Ho-Chunk Inc. corporate mission and philosophy and the various business entities under the Ho-Chunk Inc. family Excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office products required Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required Experience with SBA 8(a) program, is preferred Minimum 10 years' experience working with or for the Federal Government including a good understanding of federal acquisition regulations Minimum 5 years successful business development experience Experience with tribally owned companies, is preferred
Education Bachelor's in Business Administration or related field degree preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications Maintains a valid A/B CDL driver's license and be insurable under company insurance provider/program.
