Job Description - Business Development Manager
A well-respected and established business is looking for a focused and ambitious Business Development Manager in Northampton! Along with basic salary of up to £30,000 per annum, you will also receive a commission structure with an OTE £60,000 per annum, hybrid working (travelling 20% of the time), a car allowance and 26 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
This is a suitable role for someone currently in a sales role, but looking to start a career in IT Sales! We’re looking for someone who is a through and through ‘hunter’, willing to be trained to sell IT products.
You will be joining the team of a software development and services company based in Northampton specialising in document management and output management by providing a suite of automation software that focuses on improving document automation, workflow, collaboration, and internal and external communication for their 400+ customers.
As a Business Development Manager your responsibilities will include:
Developing and executing strategies and plans in order to achieve sales targets
Generating 20 direct customer meetings, demos and workshops per month through different sources
Demonstrating and clearly differentiatingthe product from the competition focusing on our clear and compelling value proposition
Forecasting and delivering against substantial revenue targets and achieve the assigned sales volume
Identifying new opportunities and following up on defined opportunities
Working with partners in order to maintain and expand the business within assigned customer accounts
Working with the marketing team to drive lead generation and awareness
Supporting channel planning process and forecasting for assigned territory
The successful Business Development Manager will have the following skills and experience:
Previous experience in a sales role with a demonstrable track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets
Sales driven with a proven track record of success driving revenue through discovering, prospectingand creating new business
The ability to identify decision makers and influencers as well as the courage to ask the right questions – you will know what to say and more importantly, how to say it
Knowledge of or experience in software and IT Infrastructure
Strong knowledge of MS Office and CRM applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Specific work experience in the software market is desirable but not essential
Experience selling to companies with 100 to 1000+ employees
