Job Description - Business Development Manager

FHI is growing rapidly and seeking a rock-solid Business Development Manager to join our team and focus their time on serving the Savannah area.

About This Role:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for FHI's growth in existing and new verticals, specifically targeting the Savannah metropolitan area. The position is grounded in 3 major areas:

Growth of Customer Portfolio: Produces new customers for FHI and partners with Operations to onboard new business to ensure a successful beginning to the relationship.
Awareness of Savannah Market Changes: Understanding of market trends and being able to easily identify and/or proactively address changes in the market to ensure FHI is outpacing our competitors and meeting our customers' needs and expectations.
Relationships Building: Build and leverage relationships founded on trust, integrity, and mutual respect that generate opportunities for measurable FHI growth and brand awareness.
Success Factors:

The Business Development team's goal is to generate a minimum of 15 suspects per month via ABM campaigns, LinkedIn, conference attendance, associations, general networking, relationships, etc. These suspects will have expressed some interest in FHI's services but have generally not had one-to-one outreach from the BD team.

Based on this Business Development team goal, we will know the Business Development Manager is successful when he/she generates, pursues, and converts leads, as follows:

Suspects converted to leads/appointments, i.e., those who have expressed an interest in direct 1:1 contact regarding FHI's services. (Target: 3/month, 9/quarter),
Leads/appointments converted to proposals (Target: 2/quarter, 8/year)
Proposals converted to customers (Target: 2/year)
Partners with SVP to develop and refine a strategic sales plan to address the Savannah area growth
When prospects align with FHI's business units to help ensure a successful long-term partnership.
When industry news and updates are presented monthly to the BD team to make us all smarter.
When a defined plan of pursuit is created specific to different levels of targets, one = lowest, five = highest.

Is proactive in identifying needed resources or obstacles preventing them from accomplishing the above quantitative goals.
Must be able to manage up to the SVP and across to other BD & Marketing team members to ensure alignment with overall strategic direction and tactically with market-specific efforts and messaging.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

:

Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the company's business and revenue streams in the Savannah market.
Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances within the supply chain.
Lead the negotiation and execution of contracts, agreements, and partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers.
Define and analyze industry trends, emerging markets, market trends, competitive landscape, and industry dynamics to identify growth opportunities and potential threats.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development strategies and company goals.
To optimize the business, evaluate and recommend process improvements, technology solutions, and operational enhancements.
Create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients and partners.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and compliance requirements within the supply chain industry.
Drive innovation and creative solutions to enhance the company's competitive position in the supply chain.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity within the business development team.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements:

At least five years of business development/sales experience preferred
Savannah market knowledge and an existing network of local supply chain professionals.
Supply chain knowledge and an understanding of who to target within organizations and how decision-making in the B2B space occurs.
Education:

We believe that skills and experience are what truly matter. While education can be a valuable asset, it is not required to succeed in this role.

Skills/Knowledge:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong business acumen, including diagnosing and analyzing problems and driving appropriate solutions.
Operate at a strategic level and tactical operations level
Data-oriented decision-maker.
Strong consultative partnering skills
Ability to translate theories and laws into practical guidance
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn ZoomInfo and HubSpot
Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Demands:

Office and work-from-home environment.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to travel - 20 - 50%.
