Business Development Manager (BDM)


Location: Kennesaw, GA

Openwork is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM), with a training model designed to set you up for success through structured onboarding, hands-on training, and real industry experience before you take full ownership of a territory.


This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to break into sales, grow quickly, and work with a proven team that knows how to develop top performers.


What You’ll Do as a Business Development Manager


As a BDM, you will be responsible for growing Openwork’s presence in the local market. You’ll learn how to build strong relationships, open new accounts, and partner with businesses to support their hiring and workforce needs.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Owning and growing an assigned territory

  • Prospecting and meeting with business owners and hiring leaders

  • Conducting discovery conversations to understand client needs

  • Building long-term partnerships and bringing on new accounts

  • Collaborating with operations and recruiting teams to deliver for your clients

  • Driving revenue and contributing directly to branch success


This is a high-activity, relationship-focused sales role with significant opportunity for career advancement.

Your Launchpad to Becoming a BDM


Before stepping into the full BDM role, you’ll complete a 3–6 month training program designed to give you the industry knowledge and confidence to succeed in sales.


Your training phase begins as a Staffing Specialist, where you will:



  • Learn the staffing industry from the inside out

  • Understand the full candidate lifecycle and what clients value most

  • Develop communication, sourcing, and problem-solving skills

  • Partner directly with leadership for real coaching and guidance

  • Build the operational knowledge that will make you a better BDM


This training ensures that when you step into sales, you know exactly what you’re selling and how to deliver results for your clients. You won't be thrown into sales cold, you’ll be fully equipped and supported.
