Job Description - Business Development Manager - Smart Pole Solutions

Job Description

For the North American Market, we are looking to hire a Smart Pole Business Development Manager to help grow the product offerings that are a part of the Schréder Hyperion portfolio of Smart City beyond lighting solutions. We are looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, fantastic leadership skills, a track record in consultative sales and the knowledge necessary to drive “Smart Pole” solution offerings to customers and prospects. You will be responsible to develop business through integrators and channel partners as well as directly to end customers. As the Smart Pole Solutions business leader, you will report to the North American business unit but work together with the Schréder Hyperion business development team in Lisbon, Portugal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the sales growth of Smart Pole applications in North America.

Help define sales processes and develop effective business plans/go to market strategies.

Develop national and global accounts with integrators and channel partners across the US to drive business in the public and private sectors.

Support the regional sales team in their efforts to sell smart solutions through lighting channels.

Develop solid working knowledge of technologies leveraged and make recommendations on technology enhancements.

Follow and contribute to company marketing strategies.

Identify and establish contact with prospective customers.

Communicate and network at all levels of customer organizations building & maintaining strong relationships (operations, maintenance, purchasing, IT, managers, etc.)

Qualify potential buyers by scheduling sales calls. Develop and maintain a proposal backlog that will ensure meeting sales goals.

Work closely with customers through face-to-face/webinar meetings to listen to and understand their business needs and service expectations.

Facilitate and spearhead solution-driven discussions with customers. Be an educator and enlightener on new technologies including the Schréder solutions. Drive these discussions to sale.

Maintain complete records of all activities and submit all required reports in a timely manner.

Continually learn about the Schréder portfolio of smart solutions.

Experience in working with channel partners and integrators

Outstanding sales experience (especially in consultative sales)

Ability to develop network ties across the whole customer organization

Experience in system, solution or service selling

Ability to understand customer business models and operations

Ability to manage customer expectations and craft offerings in a co-creation process

Ability to persuasively sell customer outcomes (over just features and functionality)

Availability to travel 50%

Candidates based near a major metropolitan airport are strongly preferred
