Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of Small

Business Administration (SBA) customer relationships, including business development, risk management, underwriting coordination, operations support, and long-term relationship management.

This role is ideal for a driven, results-oriented originator who brings strong SBA expertise, a true business development mindset, and a proven record of high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities:

Originate SBA 7(a), SBA 504, equipment leasing, and asset-based lending financing transactions for small businesses nationwide.

Develop and cultivate relationships with customers, referral partners, and brokers who work directly with small business owners.

Generate new business through networking, outreach, and referrals to build and maintain a strong pipeline.

Expand market penetration and grow the Banks presence in assigned locations and target markets.

Promote the Banks entrepreneurial lending philosophy and demonstrate the value of its nationwide lending capabilities.

Collaborate with the Chief Business Development Officer and marketing team to develop and execute marketing and sales strategies.

Generate leads, gather completed financing applications, submit loan packages to underwriting, and present loan requests to Credit Committee.

Identify target market credit opportunities and deliver tailored funding solutions to meet borrower needs.

Secure signed customer commitments following loan approval and coordinate the funding process with the Banks Operations Group.

Maintain active usage of Salesforce and internal origination systems to support pipeline visibility and deal flow.

Consistently meet or exceed annual production goals.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

Five or more years of sales experience in the financial services industry.

Strong SBA industry experience required.

Additional Skills and Experience

Proven sales ability serving the financing needs of small business owners, with the ability to expand business opportunities.

Documented production of $20MM+ annually for each of the past three years.

Strong business development and relationship management skills with a track record of building referral networks.

Marketing and risk management experience.

Strong credit and commercial lending skills.

Working knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and loan structuring.

Basic understanding of SBA loan programs.

Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Active referral network preferred.
