AMBA is seeking a talented Business Development Representative to join our growing Specialty Sales Team! We’re looking for a driven self-starter who’s eager to pursue new opportunities to help AMBA grow!

About the Role

The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving the department’s growth of financial institutions, registered investment advisors, and broker-dealers by identifying and closing new business sales. This role is perfect for a go-getter who is passionate about seeking and securing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who thrives in a competitive environment, excels at building relationships with potential new clients, and has some knowledge of financial institutions.  

This position focuses on building long-term relationships with high-value clients, delivering personalized support and solutions to meet their unique needs. Training is provided to ensure a solid understanding of our insurance products and services. Sales opportunities include working with a mix of existing clients and new prospects, with high-quality, vetted leads provided to help drive success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys consultative sales, relationship management, and helping clients protect what matters most. 

The Day-to-Day

  • Make outbound calls to prospective clients. 
  • Set sales appointments. 
  • Prospect with existing customers. 
  • Close sales, sign contracts, and onboard new clients. 
  • Present annual and quarterly results to executives.
  • Travel to attend various conferences and present sales presentations to audiences of various sizes. 
  • Adapt to change and take initiative in actions or sales. 
  • Follow through on commitments, and motivation to achieve goals. 
  • Exhibit written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Previous experience in insurance P&C Sales. 
  • At least 1-2 years of previous experience in sales prospecting and appointment setting. 
  • Must be P&C Licensed, or ability to obtain within 45 days.
  • Have a general understanding of P&C Insurance Markets, preferably with admitted and non-admitted.  
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).  
  • Experience with broker systems, DocView, and similar systems is a plus.
