Syracuse Haulers – Business Development Representative

The Role
We’re looking for a driven, organized Business Development Representative to grow new business and nurture existing relationships within Syracuse Hauler’s designated territory coverage area. This field-based role is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting local business owners, contractors, and property managers while building long-term partnerships. If you’re motivated, competitive, and thrive where effort is recognized, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

·        Partner closely with the Sales Manager to develop and execute territory-specific sales strategies

·        Proactively identify, pursue, and close new commercial and residential waste service accounts

·        Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support renewals, retention, and upsell opportunities

·        Represent Syracuse Haulers’ full line of waste removal services with confidence and professionalism

·        Conduct on-site visits, assess customer needs, and recommend tailored service solutions

·        Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline reporting

·        Prepare and manage spreadsheets and sales performance reports

·        Utilize marketing materials to support sales efforts

·        Stay knowledgeable on company services, pricing, and operational capabilities

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong customer-first mindset and interest in supporting local customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with a close-knit team
  • Proven ability to build relationships, negotiate, and close deals
  • Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, and standard reporting tools
  • Initiative, accountability, and drive to meet and exceed sales goals

 

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus)
  • 5–10 years of sales experience, preferably in a service-based or route-driven industry
  • Valid, insurable driver’s license
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
