Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Business Development Representative is responsible for working with Sales and Marketing to develop the sales, marketing, and business development strategies. The incumbent is accountable for meeting sales targets, as well as developing strong relationships with existing and new customers.
Key Responsibilities

Use CRM to note all Business Details after each sales conversation.
Collaborate with Director of Sales and Marketing and structural team members to develop and execute an annual sales strategy detailing what actions are to be taken to ensure attainment of company objectives for the assigned territory. Update and modify this plan quarterly (as required). Consult with Management during the development and implementation of the plan, communicating any major successes or setbacks.
Develop a strong understanding of territories and contact all accounts within the territory as per sales strategy.
Conduct client (TBD) visits to identify opportunities, develop relationships, negotiate and close deals that generate revenue.
Promote and organize lunch and learn sessions with customers and members of the Architectural & Design community.
Assist clients to set specification requirements based on the latest product knowledge.
Execute and achieve sales targets.
Know your customer. Pre-plan and have objectives for each sales call having alternative objectives including a commitment to action by the customer. Anticipate buyer objections and have alternative strategies to solve resistance.
Maintain and increase product knowledge to remain current in our dynamic industry and market.
Quoting

Evaluate project and daily related quote requests and determine required information for a quality response.
Evaluate the complexity of quotes and determine resources required to process and respond to quotes in a timely manner.
Collect required information needed to respond to quote request, pricing, freight pricing, potential sample requirements, and glass performance data.
Communicate with customers to collect additional information, if required.
Communication

Deliver training to internal staff, customers, and members of industry, which exemplifies Garibaldi’s position as subject matter experts of marine and architectural glass.
Attend and contribute to regular team meetings. Provide feedback to the team on issues such as competitors, marketing initiatives, market conditions, and recent successes.
Maintain and promote positive attitudes, morale and productivity among peers, support staff and other teams. Maintain and project mature, supportive, professional attitude in meetings with customers as well as with other staff.
All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Training)

Post-secondary education.
5-7 years full-cycle sales experience (quoting, upselling, negotiating, and closing deals).
Track record of overachieving sales quota.
Working knowledge of Marine industry (Knowledge of Marine glass is considered a strong asset)
Experience creating strategies and managing outcomes is considered an asset.
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge and familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management.
Effective communicator with strong business acumen.
Outstanding sales, business development and negotiation skills.
Strong hunter in customer-centered sales with a desire to exceed expectations and quotas.
Strong presentation and leadership skills.
Intermediate computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Product Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently as well as be a contributing member of a team.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Technical aptitude to understand, advise and train on products.
Excellent work ethic, self-motivated and driven.
Ability to be creative and provide solutions for win-win relationships.
Critical Success Factors

Use CRM to note all Business Details after each sales conversation.
Achieve and exceed sales targets as outlined in annual sales strategy.
Identifies and wins business from new customers through a consistent sales funnel.
Collaborate and assist in the development of a marketing plan that supports the annual sales plan.
Assist in the development and delivery of targeted marketing initiatives and measure success through competitive analysis.
Establishes Garibaldi as the premier source within the glass community.
Working Conditions
This position works primarily in an office environment with occasional time spent within a manufacturing environment and requirements of travel and telecommuting. The individual is expected to be based in the Greater Seattle Area.

Standard Office:

Comfortable indoor area.
Comfortable environment with exposure to some dust, dirt or other conditions which might produce mild discomfort.
Frequent, short periods when it is necessary to pay close attention to the monitoring of sights and sounds.
Moderate mental demands due to one or more conditions which are present in the job. There may be noticeable pressure from simultaneous priorities and deadlines.
Manufacturing Plant:

Temperature controlled indoor area.
Comfortable environment with exposure to some dust, dirt or other conditions which might produce mild discomfort.
Frequent, short periods when it is necessary to pay close attention to the monitoring of sights and sounds.
Safety sensitive environment with mobile equipment and overhead cranes.
Travel:

Travel may be 35% of time and may fluctuate throughout the year. Most travel with be within North America and/or local.
Client job sites may be indoor or outdoor environment(s) with exposure to dirt, dust and weather elements that might produce discomfort.

Compensation ranges from $100,000-$120,000 depending on experience.
