Job Description - Business Development Representative

Express Employment Professionals of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a

Business Development Representative

to join its team. This is an onsite position reporting to the Director of Client Relations for The Express Employment Companies (Express Employment Professionals, Specialized Recruiting Group, and Frontline Training Solutions) and working closely alongside the Managing Directors for each company. The primary emphasis of this role is to provide in-person business development / outside sales support throughout Kent County for Express Employment Professionals of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Business Development Representative

Responsibilities
Qualify potential business opportunities and contact key decision makers through in-person and phone sales calls.
Engage with businesspeople at all levels and sell critical business services.
Utilize consultative selling techniques and the discipline to be persistent while following a daily and weekly plan, demonstrating the desire and drive to become a top performing sales professional.
Generate a high level of sales activity to secure a minimum of two new clients per week.
Make a combination of 100+ sales calls weekly, including in-person, phone, email, and social media.
Document 100% of calls in the automated system and set a next action step to keep prospects/clients in the sales pipeline.
Develop a Sales Action Plan for each prospect on the Top 20 Hit List.
Prepare and execute a daily sales plan to maximize territory management.
Use a Total Client Care sales approach to present full-service capabilities.
Identify and follow up regularly with key accounts and develop unique value-added sales opportunities.
Introduce all product and service lines: Express Employment Professionals, Specialized Recruiting Group, and Frontline Training Solutions.
Communicate with the inside sales team daily to ensure sales and recruiting are in sync and clients' needs are being met across all service lines.
Organize and participate in sales activities: networking, trade shows, community events, in-office sales contests, other activities that provide an opportunity to showcase Express Employment Professionals.
Maintain current account information by preparing sales reports as needed, providing feedback to leaders and teammates on a timely basis, and responding to emails within 1 business day.
Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price, keeping current with supply/demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Conduct business in accordance with Express Guidelines and applicable Federal/State Legal Guidelines
Commit to meeting regularly with manager and franchisee(s) for continued development.
Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Business Development Representative

Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of business-to-business sales experience required; experience selling professional services highly preferred.
Ability to effectively negotiate contracts, pricing, etc. in a business-to-business environment, including basic math skills utilizing in pricing techniques and strategies.
Ability to effectively present and facilitate in front of small and large groups.
High-level of business acumen, including the ability to see the big picture.
Detail-oriented, accurate, reliable, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet search capabilities, with the ability to compose routine correspondence and reports.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively under the stress of daily travel, deadlines, commitments, and client problems.
Strong ethics and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
Ability to travel throughout the local area during normal business hours (8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday) utilizing a personal vehicle, with potential for exposure to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions as part of the day-to-day travel. Occasional out of town travel for meetings or trainings required (less than 10% of the time). Must be able to operate a personal vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
Ability to climb stairs and carry necessary marketing materials, gifts, and supplies (up to 30 pounds).
Ability to learn employment-related laws and regulations and learn/understand the co-employment relationship and its implications on employment laws and workplace regulations.
