We're seeking a dynamic Business Development Specialist to join Idaho Housing & Finance’s Foundation and assist fundraising initiatives for housing-related nonprofits across the state.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Business Development:
- Coordinate activities and members of the Ambassador Program.
- Research potential donors and sponsors and perform initial outreach when appropriate.
- Act as back up to the Director of Philanthropy at public events, when appropriate and necessary, to generate donor leads and represent the foundation and IHFA.
- Support grant writing activities. Research and understand grant management and reporting requirements. When assigned, administer said grants.
- Maintain a development contact list using an internal CRM, including a folio on major donors and sponsors.
Relationship Management:
- At the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, connect with donors and sponsors to communicate impact and results, understand their needs and preferences, and perform informal contact moments.
- When appropriate, accompany the Director of Philanthropy to sponsor and major donor pitch presentations. Support if needed.
- Upon the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, coordinate and deliver partner training.
Promotion and Communications:
- At the direction of the Director of Philanthropy and Marketing, identify content, support the production of marketing collateral, and facilitate the distribution of material.
- Monitor relevant social media activities and support the execution of the Foundation’s social media strategy and practices.
- Prepare and distribute donor and sponsor letters and communications.
Administrative Support:
- Manage the vendor contract and services for HousingIdaho.com.
- Provide financial management support, including receipt of donations, expense coding, budget tracking, and support Finance staff.
- Perform monthly reporting for internal and external impact, progress, and financial reporting.
- Act in an administrative capacity on multiple development and campaign platforms/systems.
- Coordinate travel.
- Support the documentation of established standards and practices by maintaining policy, procedural and governance documents.
Customer Service:
- Represent the foundation and IHFA in a professional and respectful manner, demonstrating an understanding of and an ability to communicate on their impact and activities across Idaho.
- Present IHFA’s and foundation’s mission and activities in a clear, articulate manner.
- Provide timely, accurate, complete, appropriate, and professional responses verbally and in writing in response to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders.
May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Position qualifications required are the following:
- A four-year degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience is desired.
- Self-directed and motivated performer with excellent collaboration and written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to foster and maintain strong, professional relationships with key business partners required.
- Strong digital and research skills required.
- Experience with social media platforms.
- General knowledge of basic accounting practices.
- Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports on development and outreach
- activities.
- Experience Microsoft suite products required.
- Experience with CRM systems preferred.
- Fundraising industry knowledge preferred.
- Moderate knowledge of graphic design tools a plus.
