A Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for generating and presenting Reporting and Insights data for customers (both internal and external). Management Controls is privately held, has been around for 30 years, services most of the Fortune 100, and is experiencing exponential growth which will last into the next decade. This position is open to candidates located outside of the Houston, Texas area that reside within the continental US. Duties and responsibilities
Gather and analyze data to provide insight into business practices and data anomalies
Determine and investigate variances in data points, trend changes, etc.
Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc
Provide data that would help to make business decisions based on costs and trends
Conduct audits on processes and transactions
Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
Suggest cost-reducing or profitable solutions
Architect, design, implement, schedule, and operate data flows from sources to Insights models and into PowerBI dashboards for all Insights consumers.
Model datasets for analytics, implement them and construct ETL processes to populate the models.
Create dashboards and visualizations from analytical data in PowerBI for both internal and external consumers.
Work with the Technology, Product, and Infrastructure teams to coordinate data requirements and underlying architecture in support of better modelling and analytics. Ensure that the strategic direction of both the Product and Technology departments will continue to support Insight's operations and its long term strategy.
Work with consumers to create consensus on analytical products such as dashboards and visualizations in PowerBI according to the Insights for Track Maturity Model.
Provide Insights-as-a-Service to multiple clients.
Troubleshoot and resolve issue with all elements of the Insights delivery mechanism (ETL, PowerBI data refresh, customer related issues, etc.) as they arise.
Work with other Insight teammates as needed to support their needs and questions. This could be almost anything ranging from basic questions regarding data or customers to the design and development of new analytical models. Requirements Qualifications include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
Designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
Minimum 10 years' experience in Data Analysis role with at least 5 years' experience in IT
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self-motived and self-directed
