Business Manager

Description

The parish of St. Augustin is seeking a detailed-oriented, mission-driven individual with strong financial and organizational skills to fill the role of Business Manager. This person will oversee the administrative, financial and operational functions of our growing parish, including the business functions of accounting, finance, compliance, risk management and facilities, as well as acting as the HR liaison between staff, the diocese, and its contracted benefits agencies. The ideal candidate will be someone with demonstrated management experience and an educational background in business disciplines. Experience in church management is a plus but not required. The Business Manager’s primary focus is effectively facilitating Church ministries within a framework of management best practices, while remaining mindful of our Catholic values and social teaching. The position requires effective communication skills and a positive, proactive spirit of cooperation in all interactions with the Pastor, parish staff, and lay leadership.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· College degree in business-related field 

· Must be practicing Catholic in good standing

· 5 or more years of non-profit management

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in Church Management

· CPA, MBA, or CFA designation 

The position requires conformity with the St. Augustin employee manual, guidelines of the Catholic Diocese of Des Moines concerning acceptance of the diocesan code of conduct, successful completion of background checks, and completion VIRTUS training.
