 Job Overview:  

The Business Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales and managing customer relationships, achieving goals and targets, sales strategy development, market analysis, and the overall success of the Kansas City, MO Transload site. The Business Manager will help grow business within the Kansas City Transload Facility. This position will also need to be flexible to assist at the physical site to ensure success. 

Compensation:

The Business Manager will have a compensation comprised of annual salary plus commission. The annual salary will be $50,000-$80,000 with a quarterly commission.

Key Job Duties:

• Grow and maintain business at the Rail Modal Group Kansas City Site where agricultural commodities are Transloaded. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty while fully utilizing the potential of the Logistics Center.
• Set and meet sales goals to drive revenue and growth.
• Analyze market trends and data to identify opportunities and optimize sales methods.
• Gather and address feedback to improve customer satisfaction.
• Prepare a formal market plan to present to Rail Modal Group management.
• Interact with clients while providing a positive representation of the company.
• Assist clients in establishing fully integrated supply chain plans around the Transload facility.
• Function independently and as a team player to develop client recommendations, analyze markets, interact with support staff, supporting the Transload facility.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate with other departments including Transload, Logistics, and NVOCC. 
• Assist at the Transload facility with general laborer, machine operator, or clerical support as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• Team player that is willing to do anything to succeed. 
• Training, coursework, or related experience in agricultural economics, grain transload and elevator operations, and cash trading in grain markets required.
• Working knowledge of commodity channels in whole grains, soybeans, and feed ingredients.
• Working trade knowledge of truck lanes, rail lanes, and traffic patterns related to the Kansas City market preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret financial information to make critical decisions.
