High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred.
2–5 years of experience in healthcare business office, or patient access services, preferably in a surgical facility.
Proficiency in MS Office and multiple billing/accounting systems.
Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
Ability to utilize multiple patients accounting and billing applications including, claims clearing house systems, payer systems, etc.
Ability to review, understand and apply contract language.
Ability to interface with staff, physicians, physician office staff, insurance companies, third party billing companies, and members of leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and/or oversee functions such as patient registration, insurance verification, medical records, accounts receivable, collections, and daily cash management.
Coordinate daily business office functions in conjunction with the Administrator.
Address patient billing concerns.
Facilitate medical records workflows, scanning charts, documentation, and response to patient requests.
Oversee third-party billing functions and relationship.
Completes the Weekly Operations Report within the defined timeline.
Maintains inventory of forms and office supplies
Conduct staff meetings, training, and cross-training to maintain operational consistency.
Manage business office policies and procedures and participate in quality improvement initiatives (e.g., QAPI committee).
Notify the Administrator of any critical issues and perform additional duties as assigned.
