The Business Operations Analyst supports the Investigator Development leadership team including the Director of Investigator Development, Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) K12 and T32 Principal Investigators, and the grant writing program lead by managing the operational execution of education and training programs for the clinical and translational research community. This role ensures programs align with institutional strategy, comply with NIH and CTSI requirements, and optimize organizational resources to meet the workforce development needs of pre- and postdoctoral trainees and faculty across OSU and partner institutions.

The Analyst provides cross-functional operational support, monitors program performance, drives process improvements, and delivers insights to leadership that enhance program effectiveness, strategic decision-making, and organizational impact.

Job Description

The Business Operations Analyst is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing a portfolio of complex initiatives and grant-funded training programs, including K12, Path to K, Path to R, T32 predoctoral and postdoctoral programs, and grant-writing programs. This role ensures operational efficiency, compliance, and alignment with institutional and CTSI goals while supporting the evolving needs of trainees and research faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Operational Planning & Execution
    Lead the operational planning and execution of Investigator Development programs, including designing curricula, establishing new initiatives, and providing infrastructure and resources to support training programs in alignment with CTSI strategic goals.
  • Program Delivery & Supervision
    Oversee the operational delivery of training activities and events, including annual programs. Manage staff and coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure programs meet CTSI objectives, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Grant Administration & Evaluation
    Manage grant administration, reporting, and compliance. Analyze program performance metrics, prepare annual reports, and support strategic outreach initiatives to promote CTSI Investigator Development programs and enhance organizational impact.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage program logistics, including marketing, scheduling, faculty recruitment, and end-to-end event registration.
  • Support the operational launch and implementation of new initiatives designed to meet evolving workforce development needs.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to optimize efficiency, resource use, and overall program effectiveness.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred
