Job Description - Business Operations & Administration Lead

Business Operations & Administration Lead

Full-Time | On-Site in Hood River, OR

If you’re the kind of person who thrives on organizing and streamlining, who can spot opportunities for improvement and make them happen, and who takes pride in keeping a business running at its best — this role is for you.

We’re looking for someone who can step into our busy, growing service business and take ownership of operations and administration from the ground up. You’ll learn our systems, help improve them, and ensure that projects, KPIs, and people stay on track.

From monitoring and optimizing workflows to keeping the team engaged and on-point, you’ll be the one who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. Over time, this role has the potential to grow with the business — but we’re looking for someone ready to make an impact from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of operational, administrative, and basic maintenance tasks to keep the business running smoothly and free the owner to focus on growth

  • Organize, manage, and improve daily operational workflows

  • Ensure company KPIs are tracked, met, and reported — and keep everyone, including yourself, accountable

  • Create, organize, update, and monitor company documentation

  • Oversee inventory, supplies, and office organization (including digital systems)

  • Step into other admin roles when needed for smooth coverage

  • Plan and run company events and initiatives to keep staff engaged

  • Lead hiring and firing, complete reviews, manage team

  • Lead sales activity (including lead and client outreach)

  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and growth

  • Work closely with the owner to implement projects and keep priorities moving forward

What We're Looking For

  • A proactive, results-driven operator who takes ownership and sees projects through to completion

  • Exceptional organizational skills — both digital and physical — with the ability to bring clarity, structure, and efficiency to complex workflows

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with impeccable grammar and a professional yet approachable tone

  • High technical aptitude — quick to master new tools, improve existing systems, and type with speed and accuracy

  • Experience tracking and reporting KPIs, driving accountability, and ensuring goals are met across teams

  • The confidence to hold others accountable while building trust and maintaining positive relationships

  • A natural culture-builder — able to engage and motivate the team, foster collaboration, and reinforce a positive, high-performance environment

  • Creative and comfortable leading social media efforts, from generating ideas to creating content and videos

  • Willing to take on whatever is needed to keep the business running smoothly and free the owner to focus on growth — whether that’s managing a major project, prepping kits, running errands, or maintaining equipment

  • Comfortable working independently — currently just the owner in the office, with a remote team

The Details

  • Pay: $24–$30/hour DOE, with opportunities for increases as you demonstrate measurable impact and growth goals are attained

  • Full-time, in-office role (Monday–Friday), Hood River

  • Potential for role growth and increased responsibility as the company expands

  • Start date: As soon as we find the right fit

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in operations, office management, or administrative leadership in a small-to-mid-sized business

  • Strong technical skills — adept with CRM, scheduling software, project management tools, cloud storage, and social media platforms

  • Quick to master new technology and adapt to updated systems, with strong typing speed and accuracy

  • Highly organized — able to maintain and improve both digital and physical systems

  • Skilled at tracking and reporting KPIs, and ensuring accountability across a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with impeccable grammar

  • Confident holding others accountable while building trust and collaboration

  • Experience in planning events, meetings, or initiatives that engage and motivate staff

  • Able to work independently and anticipate needs before they arise

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to run errands or manage off-site needs as required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field preferred — or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
