Position Summary:

Business Relationship Officer is responsible for cultivating and developing relationships with commercial prospects and key real estate professionals such as Realtors and Brokers to drive referrals and loan growth in both commercial and mortgage lending. The position is also responsible for employing diverse communication strategies that will support the building of relationships and maintain contacts within the community.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Generate, retain, and expand small business lending relationships with new and existing customers through referrals, centers of influence and direct prospecting.
  • Implement and manage an effective referral network and call program; conduct off-site visits, make sales presentations to promote products and services, host events to promote the programs such as 1st time home buyers and realtor lunch & learns.
  • Use diverse communication strategies, referral relationships with both internal and external partners and existing business relationships to cultivate new business from customers and grow the market share through the acquisition of new customers. 

Requirements

    

Required Skills / Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated dedication to positive, member-focused service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent sales skills, goal oriented, and an internal drive to succeed and achieve.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Available to work flexible hours from Monday to Friday. 
  • Available to work flexible Saturday hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel.

Education / Experience:

  • Associate degree in business administration, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Three plus years of mortgage lending and/or commercial lending experience.
  • Two years of outside sales or business development experience, preferably in banking related field.
