About Us:

The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) takes great pride in its work to support the priorities of the DeWine-Tressel administration to ease access for those doing business with the state, secure state data and technology resources, and create efficiencies for our state government partners while keeping costs in check.

DAS is the engine of state government, providing innovative solutions and supporting the efficient operation of state agencies, boards, and commissions. DAS program areas serve our Ohio government customers, who in turn directly serve the interests of Ohioans. We help procure goods and services, deliver information technology and mail, recruit and train personnel, promote equal access to the state workforce, lease and manage office space, process payroll, print publications, and perform a variety of other services.

The State Human Resources Division (SHRD) performs a variety of functions including overall administration of the state's human resources operations for state employees. The division provides services and information to state employees and assists state agencies in conducting their human resource functions. Services are offered in the areas of policy development, opportunity and accessibility, payroll administration, benefits administration, classification and compensation, drug testing, central recruiting, training and development, workforce planning, process improvement and employee records maintenance.

The Office of HR Operations serves as the focal point for all enterprise human resources operations including the administration of payroll, state services, records, and Drug-Free Workplace. This office also serves as front-line support for all customers of the OAKS HCM module and provides planning, design, and configuration functions for enterprise-facing HR systems. 

The Applications and Reporting Team (ART) provides issue triage, planning, design, testing, reporting, configuration functions, guidance, and support for multiple enterprise-facing HR programs which include payroll, time and labor, Kronos, position management, position description, ADA accommodation tracking, ePar, HR core functions, benefits, disability, OhioLearn, ePerformance, Taleo Recruit, and HR system security approvals. 


Completion of undergraduate core coursework in business administration, public administration, information systems, engineering, or comparable field; 2 years experience in business process transformation, organizational design, strategic human capital management, &/or business process reengineering.

Job Skills: Information Technology

Knowledge of\:  
1.    Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS)*;

5.    Laws, rules, & regulations relating to benefits;

8.    Operation of personal computer & associated hardware & software;

10.  Use of enterprise resource planning system (e.g., PeopleSoft/OAKS);

11.    Deal with many variables & determine specific course of action;
12.    Use proper research methods in gathering data; 
13.    Gather, collate & classify information;
14.    Draft &/or edit administrative policies, procedures, informational booklets & directives;
15.    Provide production support 24 hrs./day, 7 days/week.

What you'll do 

Under the direction of the Applications & Reporting Team’s Module Managers, these roles support configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the OAKS/PeopleSoft HR modules (Time & Labor, Payroll, HR, Ohio Learn). 

Key Responsibilities\: 

  • Gather and document business requirements for system enhancements, defects, and updates 

  • Submit and track enhancement requests and issues in ServiceNow 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve module-related problems; provide production support and issue determination 

  • Collaborate with service assurance, managed services, HR, and support teams to implement configuration changes 

  • Manage field updates and downstream impacts 

  • Respond to inquiries requiring advanced functional/system knowledge 

  • Assist agencies by researching and resolving system issues 

  • Support end-user training materials, identify process changes, and recommend updates to job aids 

  • Deliver training as needed 

  • Provide backup coverage for supervisor and respond to urgent system issues as required 

  • Cross-train and serve as backup for related OAKS/PeopleSoft modules
