Location/Division Specific Information
The finance leader is a key member of the PASD (Patient and Advisory Services Division) financial leadership team. This role is remote based (East Coast preferred) and will require up to 25% travel.
Discover Impactful Work:
The Director is responsible for end-to-end financial leadership of our global Medical Communications and Patient Recruitment business units, driving consistent achievement of objectives in revenue growth, earnings, and cash flow.
This leader leads all aspects of annual and long-range planning while creating an analytical framework to identify and develop financial growth opportunities. In addition to end-to-end P&L management, the leader will be responsible for the PPD Digital and Decentralized Solutions department budget.
A Day in the Life:
Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes to include month-end close, reporting, planning/forecasting, and analytics
Identify and complete prioritization / trade-offs for business risks and mitigating opportunities to deliver on the business unit’s growth and earnings targets
Lead the annual and long-range planning
Participate in and drive process improvement, standardization, and productivity projects within finance
Ensure accountability of achieving ROI for major investments including all capital and strategic projects
Oversees initiatives to improve working capital
Direct global MedComm, Patient Recruitment, and Digital and Decentralized Solutions finance teams
Provides thought leadership to VP and acts as change agent to drive profitable growth
Ensures compliance with local GAAP, US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies
Keys to Success:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting is required
MBA or CPA is preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 12+ years of progressively responsible finance and business partnering experience, including managing global teams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent consultancy skills with ability to function as an effective and trusted partner to internal clients at all levels of the organization
Proven leadership and management skills
Broad and in-depth knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices with sophisticated analytical and quantitative skills
Expert business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments
Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
Proven skill to influence at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to effectively delegate and balance work and deliver against competing demands
