Job Description - Business Unit Leader

Job Description:

We are looking for a visionary Business Unit Leader to spearhead our Special Mission Medical Aviation Division. This role is crucial in driving operational excellence, increasing sales, and achieving significant revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve $17+ million in revenue for 2024, with a significant contribution from our contractual partnership with one of the largest hospital systems in the country.
Drive new business development to target $8M in additional revenue from our existing aircraft operations plus the additional fleet to be added.
Lead the operational readiness of two additional aircraft, ensuring their deployment aligns with our strategic expansion, specifically in the Midwest and Southeastern territories.
Implement KPIs for revenue generation and operational readiness, including market penetration rates, fleet utilization, and client satisfaction scores.
Establish and optimize operational bases, considering logistical and sales aspects.
Lead and manage aircraft acquisition or leasing, including necessary modifications for medical operations.
Establish comprehensive air ambulance service capabilities, including recruitment and management of medical personnel and resources.
Conduct competitive market analysis and client engagement to ensure competitive positioning and client satisfaction.
Manage budget and financial planning processes, including cash flow analysis to support business growth.
Collaborate with marketing to enhance the division's profile and effectively communicate our mission and capabilities.
Lead organizational development, including structure optimization, resource planning, and recruitment strategies.
Ensure rigorous performance tracking and compliance with contractual obligations and operational metrics.
Ability to manage high-performance teams and complex projects.
Adherence Standards:
Ensure safety, quality, and proficiency in medical transport services.
Ensuring compliance with all CAMTS accreditation standards related to patient care, safety, and aviation operations.
Implementing and maintaining rigorous safety and quality management systems.
Continually training and educating flight crews and medical staff on best practices in air medical transport.
Conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with CAMTS requirements.
Facilitating a culture of safety and excellence across all aspects of the air ambulance operation.
Key Performance Indicators:
Revenue Growth

Achieving and surpassing the $17 million revenue target for 2024, with a breakdown of contributions from various aircraft and partnerships.

Market Expansion Metrics

Measuring the success of expanding into Midwest and Southeastern territories, including the number of new contracts secured and revenue generated from these regions.

Fleet Utilization Rate

Monitoring the usage rates of the aircraft fleet, aiming for optimal utilization and minimal downtime.

Client Satisfaction Scores

Regularly assessing client satisfaction through surveys and feedback mechanisms, aiming for continuous improvement.

Operational Efficiency Ratios

Evaluating the efficiency of operations, including turnaround times for flights and cost per operation metrics.

Safety and Compliance Metrics

Ensuring adherence to CAMTS standards, FAA regulations, and safety benchmarks, with an emphasis on incident-free operations.

Employee Performance and Engagement

Tracking staff performance and engagement levels, particularly focusing on recruitment success, training effectiveness, and team cohesion.

Financial Management Effectiveness

Managing budget adherence, cost control measures, and effective cash flow management.

New Business Development Success

Quantifying the effectiveness of new business initiatives, including the number of new clients onboarded and revenue generated from these ventures.

Qualifications:

Proven leadership in FAA Part 135 aviation operations, preferably in special mission or medical transport is REQUIRED for this role.
Strong business acumen with a track record of driving revenue growth and operational efficiency.
Experience in strategic planning, financial budgeting, and market analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge of aviation regulations, including FAA Part 135 certification.
