Busser - 7D Steakhouse (Dining Room Assistant/Expo)

The Seventh & Dolores Steakhouse, or 7D, is founded on a commitment to quality and honesty – naturally farmed and humanely raised foods prepared in simple, soulful ways. While the heart of the restaurant is a classic steakhouse, we imagine an experience and menu that is fun and contemporary.  The rich, fertile land of California and the spectacular Pacific Ocean dictate the seasonally changing menu, but as victims of wanderlust, we also want to bring the energy and influences of our travels back to our home in Monterey County.

We are looking for a motivated, detailed, and friendly team member who will elevate the guests’ experience. The role of the busser is to support the server, clear and set tables, stock glassware and utensils, and to maintain the general overall cleanliness of the restaurant. They are responsible for their given section to provide the necessary back waiter service to ensure the guest receives excellent service every time. If this sounds like you, we’d love to chat! 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set tables; awareness of the table and the presentation to the guests.
• Offer a black napkin to guests wearing black. 
• Look for the details of the restaurant and tables. Remember to have a vision for the whole restaurant. 
• Be responsive to guests’ needs, ensure they have what they need for a wonderful experience. 
• Buss each table carefully, ensuring the table, chairs, and surrounding area is clean.
• When the guest is here, help mark tables, clear when the server says it is appropriate. 
• Assist with running food and drinks to the tables in your section.
• Monitor restrooms throughout the shift, ensuring cleanliness and all supplies are stocked.
• Keep the linen room behind the hostess stand neat and tidy. 
• Complete opening and closing shifts as assigned.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining exceptional hospitality
• Flexibility and a positive mindset is needed 

Physical Requirements

• The ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours), walk, sit, reach, bend, stoop, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move 45 pounds is required. 
• This position also requires continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills, and the ability to clearly speak, hear, see, and adjust focus.
