Reports To: Meat Department Management Position Summary: The Butcher is responsible for making sausage, grinding meat, preparing cuts of meats, mixing marinades and preparing various food recipes, as well as providing counter assistance as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate all cutting and processing equipment properly.
- Maintain high level of cleanliness of processing work stations.
- Receive product and coordinate returns and credits, as directed.
- Maintain product case and cooler volume according to demand and product shipments, including chicken and fish.
- Assist in the oversight of merchandising product.
- Assist in the coordination of Weekly Specials with department management.
- Oversee product rotation.
- Produce sausage, grinds, patties, and kabobs.
- Provide excellent customer service as needed at counter.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Good communication skills.

- Experience working as a contributing and effective team member.
- Excellent work ethic that emphasizes efficiency and precision.
- Good working knowledge of meat, chicken and seafood processing; previous meat cutting experience highly desired.
- Ability to train personnel.

- Ability to switch tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
Special Considerations:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
- Working conditions include a fast-paced retail environment that involves long intervals of standing, crouching and reaching while moving product. Exposure cold temperatures while performing work in meat and poultry coolers. Little to no outdoor work is required.

Hours per Week: 40 (Full-time)
