Job Description - Buyer

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for the procurement, management and delivery of materials, equipment and services on assigned projects.  Responsibilities include issue requests for quotation, evaluate Supplier bids, negotiate final price and Terms & Conditions, conduct analysis of current market price levels, and issue purchase orders to Suppliers. The overall objective is to deliver all goods and services at or below budget while meeting quality and schedule requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Develop procurement strategies for materials and services focusing on cost, quality, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with teams to manage Requests for Quotation and evaluate supplier bids.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and Long Term Supply Agreements.
  • Review contracts with legal and assist in creating purchasing templates.
  • Provide market pricing insights and analyze supplier capacity.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and manage Supplier Qualification Processes.
  • Attend project meetings, oversee supply management, and conduct supplier kick-off meetings.
  • Ensure supplier deliverables align with project requirements and manage reconciliation and close-out.
  • Coordinate logistics and act as the primary contact for transportation needs.
  • Handle supplier notifications and back charge processing for performance issues.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5 years of subcontract/supplier management or related professional or educational experience is required.
  • Engineering or technical experience is a plus.
  • Proven computer skills including MS Office required, ERP software knowledge is a plus.
  • Must have strong negotiation skills and advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.

The range for this role is $63,250.00 - 116,250.00
