HYBRID ROLE

Job Purpose:

Our Buyer will be responsible for managing inventory planning and execution for specific items and suppliers and ensuring alignment with business targets for Fill Rate and Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH). This position will optimize replenishment strategies in SAP, adjust forecasts based on demand changes, and ensure accurate Purchase Order execution. Buyers also serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers and collaborate closely with internal teams to monitor inventory trends and supplier performance.

Job Responsibilities:

● Prepare and place purchase orders for goods and services in line with company requirements.
● Interview and evaluate suppliers based on product quality, capabilities, and reliability.
● Source new products and suppliers, negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
● Analyze market and economic conditions to make informed procurement decisions.
● Maintain accurate and organized supplier and product information files.
● Evaluate supplier quotes against specifications, lead times, and cost targets.
● Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turns, aging, and obsolescence.
● Independently authorize purchase orders up to $10,000 and negotiate changes to costs, services, or terms.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Strategic mindset able to balance multiple objectives and resolve complex business problems.

● Display a sense of urgency to respond to inquiries and service internal and external customers.

● Experience with SAP Replenishment Planning preferred.

Work Experience:

● 3-5 years of related job experience.

● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

● Knowledge of major ERP (enterprise resource planning) software applications such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft.

Education:

● High School Diploma Preferred
