Job Description - Buyer

Go! Retail Group is a family of brands comprised of Calendars.com, Calendar Club, Go! Toys & Games, Attic Salt, NIQUEA.D, Snoozimals, Tiny Headed Kingdom, and Kobioto.
Since 1993, we have successfully operated the largest fleet of pop-up stores in the world, with operations in six countries. Our business has grown to include year-round stores, in-house brands, e-commerce, 3PL services, and 380,000 square feet of warehouse space.

Overview:
Reporting directly to Chief Merchandising Officer, this role is a key contributor to the CMO and the merchandising team. Responsibilities include purchasing of novelty, games, and toys, planning assortments, merchandising of stores, and managing inventory to maximize sales and profit margin. In addition, the Manager will identify opportunities and recommend new product or concepts for company.
Essential Functions:
Manage Open to Buy, maintain margin targets, adhere to and maintain company inventory levels. Oversee the buying, selection, pricing, and purchasing of novelty, games, and toys and like product to maximize sales and margins.
Uses solid business and financial acumen and thinking capability to evaluate strategic options and opportunities.
Accountable for financial results- knows categories performance, margin and project impact.
Own and executes the merchandising strategy for all product purchases.
Partners with finance to develop financial plans, while maintaining healthy inventory levels that support the needs of the business.
Oversee the merchandising of toys and games store and showroom.
Work with vendors: work directly with vendors to negotiate best terms and product selections.
Manage critical vendor relationships. Create, develop, and sustain productive businesses relationships internally and externally.
Work with stores to maximize inventories and appearance throughout the selling season.
Great communication skills. Fosters open dialogue, and collaboration. Promotes the flow of information across the organization.
Showroom manager: manages all product and organization between buyers, store display, and warehouse
Responsible for taking action on forecasting and planning
Utilize pre-season and in-season planning and projections throughout the year to ensure sufficient stock levels
Interface with Sr. leadership, Operations, Logistics, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, International Partners and other departments as needed.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
At least 5+ years of retail buying experience required with at least 4+ years in a significant leadership role.
Expert knowledge of merchandising logistics and distribution.
Experience in dealing with overseas markets is a preferred.
Expert knowledge of direct-to consumer sales.
Analytical skills, including retail math applications.
Must have strong computer skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ability to quickly learn the in-house databases.
Ability to work evenings and weekends during peak season.
Excellent analytical skills.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The job also operates in a distribution warehouse environment. See below for details:
