Buyer / Purchaser - Direct Hire - Dynamic Team

Aegis is partnered with a well-established manufacturer near Danville, PA looking to add a Buyer/Purchaser to their 1st shift team! This is a direct hire position with a full host of benefits including PTO, a pension, and much more. 

Responsibilities: 

• Procurement of goods and services at the best possible cost for assigned commodities.

• Create and place purchase orders (POs)

• Follow-up on POs to expedite delivery/shipment and communicate any issues.

• Work closely with Shipping and Receiving departments on any packing slips or proof of delivery as needed.

• Assist Accounts Payable Clerk on any invoice discrepancies.

• Work closely with Engineering& Maintenance Departments on any projects that require purchasing components.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred, not required. 
• Experience: 1-3+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and training
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain a professional and personable demeanor. 
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred, not required. 
• Must have general knowledge of purchasing concepts.
