Job Description - C208 First Officer / Scenario Actor

Summary



The First Officer (FO) will perform Second in Command pilot duties and reports directly to the Captain. The FO is responsible for safe and legal aircraft operation in accordance with FAA regulations and the DST Flight Operations Manual. Duties include, but are not limited to, flight planning, preflight checks, ATC communication, coordination of special activities, and post flight tasks. The First Officer works closely with the Captain and customers to ensure flight plans are on schedule and being performed to meet the customer’s needs, with safety being first priority.  The FO completes all necessary aircraft documents for aircraft time tracking and manifest.


 


The Scenario Actor provides scenario support to our customers. Scenario Actors support research and development of customer airborne and ground situations. Scenario Actors operate and maintain customer equipment in both static and dynamic scenarios within the Hagerstown, Washington, Baltimore and Tri-State area. The Scenario Actor is also responsible for managing travel expenses and generating regular expense reports with accuracy.


 


Essential Functions



  1. Pre-flight planning and inspections.

  2. Conduct safe flight operations.

  3. Navigating and flying aircraft.

  4. In-flight monitoring.

  5. Communicating with air traffic control.

  6. Post-flight inspection.

  7. Positive Attitude.

  8. Clearly communicate with air to ground radio.

  9. Setup and operate air to ground communications equipment.

  10. Operate and maintain customer equipment in both static and dynamic scenarios.

  11. Operate vehicle, driving.

  12. Prompt communication through radios, emails, text messages and phone calls.

  13. Prompt and regular attendance.



Position Type and Expected Hours of Work



This is a full-time position including some unusual hours. The length of a work day varies depending on the customer requirements. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties and customers demand. Expected to arrive at HGR within one hour.


 


Travel



Travel will be required as requested by customers. Traveling includes overnight stays outside of the normal working location. CONUS and OCONUS travel is required. As requested by the customer, OCONUS travel will be for extended durations.


 


Required Education and Experience



  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

  2. Commercial ASEL,  Aircraft Single-Engine Land with Commercial privileges, as well as Instrument Airplane rating.

  3. Minimum TT of 250 hours.

  4. IFR Rating.


 


Preferred Education and Experience



  1. Minimum TT of 500 hours.

  2. Commercial AMEL and ASEL.

  3. Turbine engine experience.


 


Other Hiring Requirements 



  1. Current Passport with unrestricted international travel privileges.



  1. Must hold a FAA Second Class Medical.

  2. Valid Driver’s License.

  3. Must provide U.S. Citizen status upon first day of employment.

  4. Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret Level Clearance (at minimum).

  5. Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
