JOB SUMMARY

This position has a variety of duties to ensure the operations facility, offices, warehouse, common areas and surrounding areas are properly cleaned, sanitary and maintained in accordance with food safety standards. Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, clearing debris, general housecleaning tasks, emptying, and moving trash from operations to the compactor, wiping up spills. Uses cleaning materials as instructed and in accordance with best practices.  

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building and surrounding areas. Ensures a clean and sanitary and safe working environment.

• Maintains and ensures the floors are clear of debris during production hours using squeegees, shovels, hoses, trash buckets, and dollies while using company standard personal protective equipment.
• Thoroughly cleans tables, utensils, and other equipment adhering to the company's food safety policies.
• Maintains changing rooms, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, office areas,  floors, empty trash, dusts furniture, cleans windows, wipes down  high-touch areas, restocks cleaning supplies, vacuum, mops, sweeps, and  clears debris from within or outside of the building.
• Thoroughly understands and applies sanitation and safety SSOP procedures for the work performed.
• Understands and properly applies the company's color code procedures.
• Applies proper use of chemicals and maintains safe and compliant chemical handling.
• Adheres to all good manufacturing practices and food safety policies, including the company's CCP's.
• Adheres to the company's safety policies.
• Assists with other tasks pertaining to production.
• Consistently follows all standard operating procedures. 
• Responsible for successfully disposing of waste, safe ways of working, handling of chemicals and inventory. Ensures all containers are properly labeled.
• Understands the application of food grade chemicals and their proper use.
• Follow all company safety requirements (LOTO, chemical use, PPE, etc.) 
• Reports broken equipment, clogged drains, leaks, food safety related issues or other concerns to the management team.
• Follows all food safety, safety, environmental and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.

· Previous work experience in a food manufacturing facility is helpful.

· Bilingual English / Spanish is helpful, but not required

· Ability to work overtime hours when needed

· Knowledge of routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and in a food environment 

· Self-starter and able to work well in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of cleaning solutions and supplies

· Knowledge of common safety and food safety requirements   

· Demonstrated ability to be a team player

· Ability to work in a cold / damp environment and stand for extended periods

WORK DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job it is primarily working in a warehouse or chilled factory environment with prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting medium to heavy weight objects. Regularly required to grab, carry items, talk, or hear with frequent use hands to finger, handle, lift or feel. Regularly exposed to chilled temperatures.
