Cable Television Technician (Secret Clearance Required) - Opportunity to Make a Difference

Task & Duties

• Broadcasts closed-circuit television and satellite feeds.
• Answers customers' inquiries or complaints and explains the cost and operation of cable service.
• Participates in the development of policy and growth plans for the branch.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs cable systems and a wide variety of electronic systems, including audio/video recording and closed-circuit television.
• Measures signal strength at amplifiers or at customer's terminal boxes, using test equipment, making necessary adjustments and/or modifications when needed. Cleans and maintains tools and test equipment.
• Repairs or replaces worn components to ensure acceptable signal strength. and required supplies and notifying the supervisor that supplies need replenishing before they are depleted.
• Compliance with all appropriate controls and procedures to protect organizational integrity and prevent unauthorized use or misappropriation of all classified and sensitive (but unclassified) material and equipment in assignment area(s).
• Reports unauthorized use of cable system and instances of security violations/problems to the appropriate supervisory/management officials.
• May be required to travel.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Five years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing cable systems, as well as repairing or replacing defective components.
• Must have a minimum of five years of experience broadcasting closed-circuit television and satellite feeds, evaluating reception, and determining the cause of faulty reception.
• Must have excellent customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytic skills.
• Must have Secret Security Clearance.
• Knowledge of appropriate controls and procedures to protect organizational integrity and prevent unauthorized use or misappropriation of all classified and sensitive (but unclassified) material and equipment in assignment area(s).

• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and the ability to deliver sensitive/complex information tactfully.
• Ability to assess problems and solve them with a sense of urgency.
