JOB PURPOSE

The Student Educator will work with the Office of Community Accountability and Conflict Education (CACE) to assist with campus education efforts regarding substance use, conflict education, student conduct, and other topics that CACE is responsible for. This position will be supervised by the Community Accountability Coordinator.

The Student Conflict Educator will work with the Office of Community Accountability and Conflict Education (CACE) to assist with conflict education workshops and passive education efforts. They will serve as a valuable student perspective in the CACE's strategic planning efforts for conflict education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Working in-office in the Community Accountability Coordinator’s office to complete tasks (e.g., tabling, preparing tabling supplies, working on social media posts or other marketing, etc.)

  • Participating in assigned meetings, trainings, and workshops, including a 30 minute weekly meeting with supervisor and a 30 minute monthly meeting with the Senior Associate Dean of Students

CAMPUS EDUCATION

  • Assist in designing passive educational material and advertising for conflict education, substance use, and knowledge around campus policies

  • Coordinating educational tabling events for conflict education, substance use, and knowledge of campus policies

  • Work with the Office of Health Promotion and Wellness to assist with any additional educational events related to substance use education and harm reduction practices

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain CACE’s student-facing social media account(s) through developing semesterly marketing plans influenced by campus trends and direction of the Community Accountability Coordinator

  • Creating and posting marketing materials to be posted to CACE’s social media accounts

SCHEDULE

  • Student must be able to work 4 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays during the academic year when classes are in session

  • Some remote work may be possible following coordination between the Community Accountability Coordinator and student

  • On occasion, student may be asked to work evenings and/or weekends depending on the College event schedule

RATE OF PAY

  • $16.80 / hour

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Submission of an updated professional resume

  • Sophomore standing or higher during the 2026-2027 academic year

  • Full-time student status, not studying abroad during the 2026-2027 school year

  • Demonstrate familiarity and/or willingness to learn Lewis & Clark College’s Student Code of Conduct and other College policies

  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of the College’s campus culture

PREFERENCES

  • Graphic design experience and knowledge of Canva and/or any other graphic design or editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)

  • Social media marketing experience, specifically a familiarity with Instagram

  • Interest in future work around law and policy, health and wellness, or conflict management a plus

    Eligibility to Work
