Cad Supervisor

Position Summary

The CAD Supervisor serves as the subject-matter expert in the department, with full knowledge of and the ability to read and understand blue print drawings and conversion of drawings.  The CAD supervisor oversees the department and ensures the department team is well equipped to perform efficiently. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Oversee CAD team members and ensure efficiency within the department
• Interview, Hire, Train and Develop team members 
• Conduct performance reviews to ensure transparency and full understanding of job expectations
• Model the behavior and leadership values according to Toledo Steel’s standards and expectations
• Lead team meetings to establish goals and provide feedback
• Create, revise and update 2D drawings
• Create CNC programs for shop burn tables using nesting software
• Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation in collaboration with sales
• Provide guidance to plant supervisors on drawings to ensure customer requirements are met
• Maintain up to date drawings for future reference
• Other duties as needed

Education and Experience

• Associates Degree in CAD or related field; or a combination of experience and demonstrated competency will be considered
• 1-2 years 2D CAD Design Software experience
• 1-2 years Supervisory experience
• Strong Critical Thinking skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional communication skills

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The following environment/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position:

• Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials due to shop environment
• Office environment is predominately sedentary
• Occasional standing, walking, and lifting at least 20 lbs.
