Job Summary:

The Cafe Barista is responsible for providing excellent guest service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, and food items in a fast-paced cafe environment. This position helps create a welcoming atmosphere for guests while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency throughout the cafe.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to company standards


• Provide friendly and professional guest service


• Take guest orders accurately and process payments


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, equipment, and seating areas


• Restock supplies, cups, syrups, food items, and merchandise as needed


• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards


• Assist with opening and closing duties


• Monitor product quality and presentation


• Maintain knowledge of menu items and promotions


• Assist guests with questions and recommendations


• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining positive guest interactions


• Help minimize waste and maintain proper inventory levels

Qualifications:

• Previous customer service experience preferred


• Previous barista or cafe experience preferred


• Starbucks experience is highly preferred and considered a strong plus


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Strong communication and multitasking skills


• Basic cash handling and POS experience preferred


• Flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods


• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds


• Ability to safely operate coffee and cafe equipment
