Cafe Barista & Bartender

Greenhouse Café at MRT Ace Hardware is hiring a friendly, dependable, and flexible team member to help launch and operate our new café inside our retail store and garden center at MRT Lawn and Garden Center North Venice.

This is a hands-on customer service position that combines barista, bartender, café service, cleaning, stocking, and general utility responsibilities. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in keeping things clean and organized, and is comfortable helping wherever needed.

Pay

• Starting at $15/hour + tips

Additional pay may be available based on experience, availability, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, soft serve, beer, wine, and café menu items
• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Take orders, use the POS system, and handle payments
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked café area
• Restock cups, lids, syrups, ingredients, beverages, and supplies
• Assist with basic food prep, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups, and grab-and-go items
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service procedures
• Wash utensils, smallwares, and café equipment as needed
• Help with opening and closing duties
• Support nearby retail or garden center tasks when needed
• Work as part of a small team in a new and growing café environment

Qualifications

• Barista, café, restaurant, retail, or bartending experience preferred, but not required
• Must be friendly, dependable, and customer-service oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to clean, stock, organize, and help wherever needed
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must meet age requirements for serving alcohol
• Food safety or alcohol service certification is a plus, but we can help the right candidate obtain required training

Schedule

• Part-time and full-time positions may be available. Weekend availability is preferred.

About Us

• Greenhouse Café is a new café concept located inside MRT Lawn and Garden Center. We will serve Lucky Goat coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups, beer, wine, and other café items in a clean, plant-filled, welcoming environment.

We are looking for team members who want to help build something new from the ground up.
