The FOH Supervisor role is responsible for providing a highly exemplary and personal level of guest service and hospitality from the FOH team in our cafes. The FOH Supervisor is also responsible for all aspects of FOH operations and the smooth running of the counter/ and or ‘floor’ with the café footprint, including oversight of visual merchandising, cash management, FOH and counter staff scheduling, on shift instruction and evaluation, occasional facilities management, and a myriad of other tasks that arise daily. The FOH Supervisor role serves as the service leader for the FOH within Cafes and directs and participates in the work of leading by example and instructing others on how to deliver exemplary hospitality.
Requirements
Hours: This is a full-time, 40 hour/week role that requires weekend availability
Pay: minimum - maximum range of $20.00 - $21.72 per hour
Location: 129 Market Street, Williston VT
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
· A demonstrated commitment to service as a culture and to sustainability; a devotion to food and fierce hospitality
· 2 years previous experience in a food service, coffee/barista setting preferred
SKILLS & BEHAVIORS:
To perform the job successfully, the employee should demonstrate the following:
· Working knowledge of POS systems; cash register
· Fundamental food knowledge to include coffee/espresso/juice and/or willingness to learn
· Proven knowledge of local, state and federal Health Department standards for both health and sanitation
· Basic knife skills
· Basic computer skills
· Basic math skills
· Creativity and passion for the product (loves food & coffee!)
· Positive attitude
· High energy and an ability to work in a demanding environment
· Self-management and an ability to remain calm under any stressful situation
· An ability to be quick on his/her feet and make smart decisions instantaneously
· Ability to communicate with various types of people in various ways (written, verbal, demonstration)
· Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Approachability; works effectively and relates well with others
· Ability to manage conflict and see them as opportunities
· Problem-solving abilities; resourcefulness
· Patience
· Reliability; regular and punctual attendance
· Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the department; early mornings/evenings, weekends and holidays
· Ability to follow-through on commitments and/or verbal instruction
· Acts as a team player
· Goes the extra mile for customers and maintains the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service and sensitivity to customer’s and co-workers needs
