Job Description - Cafeteria Attendant

Position Purpose:


To prepare food for our associates that will meet or exceed their expectations. 


Essential Functions:


 



  • Prepare cafeteria and all cold foods, salads, platters, trays and salad dressings according to Hilton standards. Refresh ice on salad bar, restock plates, plastic ware and condiments.


 



  • Maintain the employee cafeteria in a clean and sanitary condition. To include the following; sweeping and mopping of the floors daily, wiping down counters, emptying trash, dust and wipe down tables, clean glass on buffet line, wipe down trash containers, and clean area around beverage station, sanitizing/cleaning soda and juice dispenser.


 



  • Ensure all product and procedures follow health code regulations.


 



  • Ensure all product is properly stored and labeled.


 


 


Supportive Functions:


In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.



  • Must possess a basic knowledge of fundamental cooking.


 



  • Must possess a basic knowledge of sanitation standards.


 



  • Ability to read English and understand B.E.O.‘s


 



  • Ability to lift 50lbs.


 



  • Ability to work at a quick and efficient pace.


 


Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.



  • Ability to operate kitchen and food service equipment.


 



  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.


 



  • Ability to fill out a food requisition.


 



  • Ability to work in a quick and efficient manner.


 


Qualification Standards:


Education:


High school education or equivalent preferred.


 


Experience:


Prior cooking experience.


 


Licenses or certificates:


Florida Health Certificate.


 


Grooming:


All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
