Cafeteria Manager

Cherokee Classical Academy seeks a full-time Cafeteria Manager. The Cafeteria Manager will be responsible for maintaining a civilized atmosphere in the cafeteria in a kind-hearted yet firm way, maintaining dining room cleanliness and table turnover, and assisting in the kitchen and other areas of the school as needed. This position would report to the Director of Operations on Cherokee Classical Academy’s Cherokee County campus. 

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain a respectful and orderly atmosphere in the cafeteria while fostering effective employee relations.
• Oversee compliance with state and federal guidelines under the National School Lunch Program, including food preparation, setup, and service.
• Manage vendors by verifying deliveries, checking invoices for accuracy, and ordering food and supplies weekly from approved vendors and the USDA.
• Organize and maintain storerooms and storage areas while ensuring accountability of inventory, including food and paper goods.
• Record daily food production and inventory of all food supplies and equipment.
• Prepare nutritious meals in compliance with approved recipes and federal, state, and local standards.
• Follow all safety, food production, and food specification guidelines to ensure quality and compliance.
• Monitor cafeteria profitability by managing food costs, labor, and resources effectively.
• Maintaining a civilized atmosphere in the cafeteria
• Maintaining dining room cleanliness and table turnover
• Assisting as needed with kitchen duties such as plating meals and cleaning as needed and non-kitchen duties such as carpool, and summer office coverage.
• Attention to detail, willingness to jump in to help, and not being afraid to "get your hands dirty" are a must.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Five years of applicable experience working with children required
• ServSafe certification is preferred

About Cherokee Classical Academy:

Cherokee Classical Academy (CCA) is a tuition-free public charter school set to launch in Cherokee County, GA. It will open for grades K-6 in the 2025-2026 school year and will continue to add a grade each year until reaching a full K-12 configuration. Families who reside in the counties of Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Fulton, Pickens, Paulding, and the cities of Marietta, Cartersville, and Atlanta are eligible to apply for enrollment.
