Job Description - Calibration Technician





About Redwood Materials



Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2019, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.






The Calibration Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day verification, calibration, and repair of instrumentation across the Redwood Materials Battery Materials Campus in McCarran, Nevada. The role is responsible for the performance of verifications, calibrations, associated support tasks, and effective record keeping related to calibrations to support ISO certification. This role will support production lines, analytical labs, pilot plants, and general services departments. Relocation assistance available depending on level and experience.


Responsibilities will include:



  • Execute calibration, verification, and functional testing in manufacturing and laboratory environments, with all work documented for traceability and compliance

  • Develop, document, and follow calibration methods and troubleshooting procedures for a wide range of process and analytical instrumentation

  • Maintain accurate calibration records, logs, and documentation in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF 16949, and internal quality standards

  • Support production lines, pilot plants, analytical labs, and general services by ensuring reliable and compliant measurement systems

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, specifications, and calibration procedures to understand device functionality and application

  • Learn new instruments and technologies and evaluate performance through testing and verification

  • Work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


Desired Qualifications:



  • Certification/degree in Instrumentation Technology or Electrical Systems Technology, or relevant experience in a related position.


  • Comfortable keeping accurate calibration records and working in ISO-regulated quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF 16949 preferred)



  • Able to use computer systems to log calibration results, documentation, and traceability


  • Ability to work independently, manage daily workload, and see jobs through to completion




  • Able to follow written instructions, prescribed routines, and accepted calibration practices




  • Communicates clearly and professionally with operators, supervisors, and team member

Shifts:


A Shift: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday-Tuesday (every other Wednesday) 


C Shift: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm Thursday - Saturday (every other Wednesday)


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to work with Tyvek suits, Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), and other personal protective equipment (PPE)  

  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights, including safely climbing ladders to access work areas.

  • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.   

  • Ability to operate and train on equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized machinery   

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.  


Working Conditions:


Work performed in varied indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to hazardous materials and challenging conditions (noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes) while wearing required PPE for extended periods.


 

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
