Camp Behavior Specialist

Description

Under the direction of the Camp Care Coordinator and Camp Director, the Camp Behavior Specialist helps campers who need extra social and behavioral support.  

Requirements

• Help support staff with positive behavior management. 
• Responsible for joining groups that need extra support.  
• Interact with multiple groups and campers throughout each day.  
• Assist Camp Care Coordinator in daily tasks. 
• Alert Camp Care Coordinator if a situation is out of their scope of practice. 
• Create behavior charts and implement behavior plans under the discretion of the Camp Care Coordinator. 
• Confidentially document significant behaviors.  
• Share all information regarding campers to the Camp Care Coordinator and Camp Director while maintaining and respecting the confidentiality of all campers.  
• Support all camp locations, either in person, over the phone or virtually. 
• Immediately inform Camp Director of any concerns that arise with campers, staff, parents/guardians, and/or community members. 
• Communicate regularly with the Camp Director and other members of the Camp Leadership Team; share recommendations with the Camp Director on an ongoing basis. 
• Act as a positive ambassador of the SJCC both inside and outside of the SJCC 
• Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC. 
• Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.  
• Other duties as assigned. 

Education/Experience: Experience and/or training working with children required. Must have Registered Behavior Technician training and/or other approved behavior training.

• Washington State Pay Range: $19.50 - $20.50/hr
• Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including but not limited to, skills, relevant experience, and specific work location.
